Users with more than one Webex Device

SecureCall can be used to secure any of the user’s Webex Calling devices.

  • Webex Calling Client
  • Webex Contact Centre Client
  • A Desk phone and any other certified Cisco Webex Calling SIP endpoint.

Many users have multiple devices and soft clients registered to their Webex account at the same time.

At the time of account creation, SecureCall nominates the Webex Client as the device to be used by staff to take payments.

This can be changed if the customer would like a different device to be used to secure customer calls.

The following two options are available.

Site (location) wide nomination

The customer can nominate the Webex Calling Primary device (configured in Control Hub) is used to secure customer calls. This is a site (location) wide nomination made to BroadSource on request at the time of the deployment project or at any time by contacting support@broadSource.com.au and in upcoming releases, via the SecureCall Admin Portal.

Device specific nomination

Using Cisco Webex Calling Device Tags, SecureCall will use the device or device types that have been allocated the ‘securecall’ tag. This will override the Primary Device and Webex client defaults.

It means a customer can be very selective as to which devices or device types are to be used when taking payments by phone.

A Webex admin, using the Control Hub can complete this task themselves.

Below is an example where a Webex admin has nominated the Cisco 8841 device(s) to secure calls, adding the ‘name=securecall’ tag to this device or device type.

Note: While the Cisco 8841 has been nominated as the device for their staff to take customer payments, this user can still use SecureCall within the Webex Client or Webex Contact Centre sidebar to process the payment.

Finding the Device(s) to be used

From within the Webex Control Hub – Devices tab, the admin can using the filter to find devices by a number of different parameters

Once the Webex Admin has identified the device(s) using the filter they can choose which device(s) to apply the ‘name=securecall’ tag to.

And use the edit button.

Select the ‘Tags’ option at the bottom of this page.

Then the admin just needs to enter “name=securecall” as a tag that will be applied to all of the selected devices.
